Transportation Systems Program Seminar
November 20th, 2013 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
140 Ketter Hall | University at Buffalo North Campus
The engineering consulting business includes all aspects of infrastructure projects, from initial conception through the passage of the project on to the travelling public. The future of engineering students will most likely include participation with a firm or agency on projects that are in some phase of development.
In this presentation, "Case Studies and Challenges in Highway Engineering" (pdf), Christopher LaTuso, PE, MBA, Vice President, NY/NJ Transportation Business Group Manager at HDR Inc., will introduce the origin of projects, how they progress through the design phases from an agency and consulting engineering perspective, and the role engineers play in this process.
Presented by the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and the Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics.
