Seismic testing making headlines

Nov 9, 2006 - The seismic tests that are conducted regularly inside the cavernous state-of-the-art Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL) in Ketter Hall generally are viewed by a select few: the structural engineers, technicians and students who are integral to UB's world-renowned program in earthquake engineering.



Huge Luxury Home to Get Seismic Dampers Tested by UB, RPI

Aug 31, 2006 - Just weeks after the University at Buffalo and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute successfully conducted the first tests of seismic dampers for residential applications, the firm that manufactures the dampers, Taylor Devices, has made its first sale of the protective devices for a residence.

MCEER

The Federal Highway Administration is a major research partner of UB's Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research (MCEER). Established in 1986, MCEER has coordinated more than $120 million in projects. It provides research and training opportunities for CSEE students.
